We can’t believe that today is departure day!

We have had a whirlwind week of final preparations, but the real preparation has been happening for the last 18 months.

We want to say a huge thank you to Cara and Christine from Inner Faith Travel for their constant help, support and patience over these last 18 months, with our questions and requests. They have been incredible!

The last week has been a wonderful time of farewells. The Commissioning and prayer for the whole team last Sunday was a blessing. We have people joining us for this Growing Together Tour from each of our Sunday congregations, and they were prayed for at each congregation last Sunday. We are looking forward to sharing time and growing together with Nicole Sellars, Joan Bird, Elizabeth Hoffmann, Eric Jacob, Joyce & Graham Duncan, Don & Dianne Henderson, Kelvin Woodrow, Bruce & Wendy Kinnear and Ivan & Judy Wilson. Monday night was Parish Council, Tuesday night was a beautiful evening being taken out to dinner by our family. So special! Wednesday evening was a wonderful time of farewell with our Church family. We are so very blessed. Thank you to everyone for a superb night of joy, prayer and fellowship.

The week in the office has been a time of ‘making sure’ that everything has been done. We hope we made it! A staff meeting with Hugh and Bruce [our locums] was a great time of confidence and assurance.

Apart from several times of frustration when last minute planning and preparation has been subjected to ‘murphy’s law’ we trust we are all in place now.

Our flight today will take us to Bangkok for an overnight stay before our flight to Kathmandu tomorrow. All our travellers’ luggage is at capacity as we take over ministry resources [Children’s ministry, leadership ministry, Alpha ministry] and plenty of dietary supplements to cater for missionaries’ needs. We pray that Thai Airways ignores the odd excess kilo.
